Outdoor Christmas
How To Transform Your Life And Your
Yard
Outdoor Christmas Decor and the
Yuletide season has a wonderful way of bringing back our
happiest memories.
The
season is also
notorious for making our schedules crazy.
This season may
find you doing everything from planning the office party to
adding touches of panache to your outdoor
decor.
Your calendar is likely bulging
with commitments. But there are ways to keep your outdoor
decor commitments manageable.
Organization, using
smart shortcuts, knowing where you can streamline or delegate, and
having lots of
outdoor
Christmas ideas
is key.
Of all the holidays we celebrate, Christmas
is by far the most hands-on. But your
decorations don't have to be challenging to be beautiful.
Before you begin, take a look at your home's exterior, and
decide which are its strongest or best features. Then trim
those that give the most impact.
Of course, you'll wrap
the porch posts with garlands and hang swags between your
pillars. But also consider hanging large tassels from the
eaves.
In the dead of winter, a few
outdoor Christmas lights go a long way.
Work with just one color or create dazzling
effects with lots of different colors.
Consider
creating several outdoor Christmas displays.
And let
your outdoor Christmas lights
make them shine at different times of the evening or even at
different times of the season.
Be
safe by using lights that don't shatter or freeze along with heavy
duty outdoor extension cords.
You might also wrap exposed electrical connections with
electrical tape.
Making your own
outdoor decorations isn't as easy as hanging a ready-made wreath on
the door, but outdoor Christmas wreaths made with your own
hands yield so much satisfaction and beautiful results as
well.
And, decking
the halls with a boxwood garland to hang in a window or on
a door is easy.
Measure enough
rope to fit around the door or window frame. Cut pieces of
boxwood branches into six inch lengths. Create clusters by
binding the clippings to the rope with florist wire. Attach the
clusters a few inches apart so the leaves cover the cut ends of
the previous cluster. Continue until rope is
entirely covered.
This time of year more than any
other, we take your our celebrations outdoors.
Handmade holidays are economical. Browsing for
outdoor Christmas
ideas
is fun.
And putting up Christmas outdoor decorations is a great way to spend
time with your family.
